@Everly Brothers International - Oh dear God, this is so gut-wrenching. I can feel it right now. And your version of the separation written in the notes of this video is not at all like the other account of the story. An A&E interview with someone in the organization who was present that night said that Phil rose up on tiptoe, threw down and smashed his $1200 Everly Brothers Gibson guitar, then walked off saying, "I can't go on stage with that man again." After which Don told the audience, "The Everly Brothers died ten years ago." By the third song, the audience was already walking out and that particular performance was clearly over. So the description of their final night is not quite clear, but this song tells it all. And I am crying all over again even though this has happened (long ago) and been healed and the brothers are at home in heaven. The immediacy of this song brings it all back. Thank you for giving us this.

I watched them with my girlfriend perform in the mid 1970s. She said they reminded her of the Beatles, and I told her they had inspired a ton of groups included the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and others. She was younger than I so she didn't know.

Kentucky. Two guys with two guitars a good two feet away from one single microphone. That's all that's needed to perform a folk song in perfect harmony.. It doesn't get any better. Albert Lee said that this song inspired him to become a musician.

What show were they on? What is the context for the songs and costumes? They're good sports to take this on so willingly.

I truly appreciate this channel! I'm a big fan of their music, and the 1994 boxed set "Heartaches & Harmonies" showcases how outstanding their '60s material is. I knew about the Royal Albert Hall concert, but I had no idea that they toured in '84!

I have been a hermit crouched under a rock since the turn of the century. The word "hermit" did not exist until I was found hiding in a cave. This 'Live at Lake Tahoe" performance is the first time in history that I have ever attempted to time-travel into a concert. How is it possible that The Everly Brothers could sound even sweeter and more harmoniously heavenly than ever? (Except, of course, "Lucille")
